BIOGRAFIA
Massimo Ferrari (Piacenza, 1965), architetto, dottore di ricerca in Composizione Architettonica e Urbana allo IUAV di Venezia, è professore associato in Composizione Architettonica e Urbana al Politecnico Milano. Dal 2010 al 2017 è stato redattore della rivista di architettura «Casabella», dal 2017 fa parte del Consiglio Direttivo della Società Scientifica Icar 14 PROARCH. Curatore di pubblicazioni sull’architettura e sull’arte indirizza la propria ricerca principalmente al progetto d’architettura, al rapporto tra forma e struttura, approfondendo negli anni alcuni temi ricorrenti quali l’architettura per i musei, l’edificio pubblico in relazione allo spazio urbano e dal 2014 l’architettura dell’edificio scolastico “di ogni ordine e grado”. Nel 2006, è stato invitato (con Tomaso Monestiroli) alla X Biennale di Architettura di Venezia per il progetto di un teatro a VEMA, nel 1997 ha vinto il primo premio per il Restauro di Palazzo Tentorio e la realizzazione della nuova sede comunale a Canzo, Como (realizzato nel 2003), nel 2008 ha vinto il primo premio nel concorso per la “Riqualificazione del lungomare di Siracusa” (in coll), nel 2009 il primo premio nel concorso per la riqualificazione di Piazza Santa Croce a Parma. Nel 2014 ha progettato il Padiglione Cluster Fruits and Legumes costruito per Milano Expo 2015. Tra le numerose mostre curate, nel luglio del 2015 nell’ambito del progetto Triennale Xtra per Expo 2015 ha curato “Di ogni ordine e Grado. L’architettura della Scuola” allestita a Palazzo Natta a Como e poi riallestita in numerose sedi prestigiose in tutta Italia. Dal 2016 è docente alla Scientific School ILS- Innovative Learning School organizzata e ideata dal DADU, Dipartimento di Architettura, Design e Urbanistica, dell’Università degli Studi di Sassari. Dal 2020 è responsabile scientifico dell’accordo quadro tra Politecnico e Fism per il Progetto Metamorfosi. Trasformazione di 14 scuole dell’infanzia nel territorio lombardo. E’ responsabile dell’Unità di ricerca del Politecnico di Milano di PROSA – Prototipi di Scuole da Abitare (PRIN 2017).

Massimo Ferrari (Piacenza, 1965), architect, PhD in Architectural and Urban Composition at IUAV in Venice, is associate professor in Architectural and Urban Composition at Politecnico Milano. From 2010 to 2017 he was editor of the architecture magazine «Casabella», since 2017 he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Scientific Society Icar 14 PROARCH. Curator of publications on architecture and art, he mainly focuses his research on the architectural project, on the relationship between form and structure, investigating over the years some recurring themes such as architecture for museums, public buildings in relation to urban space and, since 2014, the architecture of school buildings “of every order and degree”. In 2006, he was invited (with Tomaso Monestiroli) to the 10th Venice Architecture Biennale for the design of a theatre in VEMA, in 1997 he won first prize for the Restoration of Palazzo Tentorio and the construction of the new municipal headquarters in Canzo, Como (realized in 2003), in 2008 he won first prize in the competition for the “Redevelopment of the Syracuse waterfront” (in coll), in 2009 first prize in the competition for the redevelopment of Piazza Santa Croce in Parma. In 2014 he designed the Cluster Fruits and Legumes Pavilion built for Milan Expo 2015.
